What does my name, Rajan, mean? "Rajan" is the Sanskrit word for "The King." Although I am a Hindu, mostly Hindu and Buddhist people keep this name. They are found all over Nepal, India, Malaysia and in other countries as well. A lot of South Indians also have Rajan as their last name. What does our son's name, Rajat, mean? "Rajat" is a Sanskrit word meaning "Silver" or "Brightness." What does my wife's name, Shabnam, mean? "Shabnam" is an Urdu/Persian word for "The Morning Dew." Although my wife is a Hindu, mostly Muslim women keep this name and is rarely found among Hindu women. Turkish females also have SEBNEM as their first name.
